Back in the 1950's, This beach had over 600 feet of beach between the snack shack (originally Philbricks, then Liam's, both of which are now gone) and the "drop-off" to the water.

Today, there is barely 10' left and even that shrinks during high water events. The town eliminated a bunch of parking spaces (read that revenue) and spent a truckload of money building a new "dune".
Check on it in a year or two and see how that worked out.
